Help! Strange Graphics Card Issue

Hi All,

Finally started building my new pc last night - delighted when it POST'ed ok at the first attempt -

So far I haven't installed an OS or anything - ran out of time -

I'm experiencing a strange issue - my graphics card (XFX 8800) has 2 x DVI ports - all displays fine over the DVI-analogue adapter however when I use the DVI-HDMI adapter (monitor has hd15 and hdmi inputs) I just get a blue screen (I think as in the monitor is detecting no input)

I guess my question is "is this normal" - does the graphics card only output in analogue pre-os starting or should I be getting something over the DVI/HDMI as well?

Advice greatly appreciated - any questions just shout

Does the monitor need switching to detect the HDMI input? (Normally an option on the on-screen menu)

It does - but already tried that - just a blue screen on HDMI and POST screen on VGA.

i presume I should read that as "it should be outputting over HDMI - even at POST"?

Don't know - it may not ouput over HDMI until the drivers are loaded. What does the mfr website/manual say?

That's why I thought I'd try and work out whether I have a hardware-type issue before I whack Windows on this eve...

Probably easiest just to crack on and see
