Sound card for Vista x64

It seems sound output on my motherboard lost one channel
I don't want to exchange the board nor wait for RMA.
So I decided to get a decent sound card

What would you recommend guys for use with Vista x64? I'm total noob in these things - always used on-board sound. I'm not looking to spend more than 50 quid really and my sound system is 2 channel.

I have always used on board sound as well... quite impressed with my current on board one at the moment

Um for an external sound card I'd suggest the Creative X-Fi Extreme music or even the extreme gamer.

From what I have heard the extreme music is the best variant other than the fatality series or the Auzuntech X-Fi prelude which are both more expensive.
