    Question 5.1 surround problems

I have recently got logitec X540 speakers and plugged them into my creative SB live 5.1 digital sound card. The center speaker does not seem to work, however the sub connected to the pc on the same wire as the center works fine. I know it is not an issue with the speakers, as they play out of the center channel when I plug my ipod into them.
However when I click on test speakers, it goes through each speaker saying its name, and the center works then - but a lot louder than the others - but at no other time?

Can anyone help, as it is very annoying

have you made sure the balance is correct on all speakers? and that all plugs are properly pushed in?

    Re: 5.1 surround problems

I tried changing the balance, but even when I put it on full front, it just came out of the other 4 speakers. The plugs seem firm enough as well.
I don't know - its odd that it works in creative speaker testing but no where else - could be because its an old card.

i think you need to enable it with the creative software, also i remember you will have to enable it in programs such as winamp

    Re: 5.1 surround problems

I went into the creative setup utility, and the windows one, and they both reported it as being on 5.1 surround.

    Re: 5.1 surround problems

It has the latest drivers from creative, and does not work on itunes, wmp, any games, or any other windows app - accept for creative own speaker test utility.

Not really sure - could it be because it is a shared jack with the digital output which i have disabled?
