Re: Computer Freezing With Graphics Card

lol this is confusing! Dug out an old hard drive, formated it with XP it ran no problem.
Stuck in the graphics card and it froze.
Took out my brother's 7600GT from his PC and it froze too.
So it works without the graphics card on both hard drives yet the graphics card will freeze it on either (the new one having next to nothing on it - including no onboard graphics driver installed).
Can't test the graphics card as it has a silencer on it which doesn't fit into his PC but think it is something else if his working card freezes too?

Re: Computer Freezing With Graphics Card

The graphics card has to be faulty then because we have gone through every possible software issue and in the end formatted the PC and still it was freezing. The only thing that hasn't been tested is if the machines works with a different GFX besides the 7600GT.

Is the GFX under warranty? If it is I'd send it in to get tested and check to see if there is a problem with it because its beginning to sound like a faulty GFX.

8800GT ASUS A8V-VM SE compatibility problem
Could that maybe be what it is? The graphics card just isn't compatible?

Re: Computer Freezing With Graphics Card

Yeah that's possible although I am unaware of confirmed cases with that board. I would get another inexpensive board to test with(can always send it back under DSR if you have it less than 10 days if it doesn't work).

If you don't want to spend the money then getting the GFX tested would provide you with the answer. if its faulty its not compatibility and if its not faulty then its a compatibility issue.
