    New User Go Easy On Please!

    hi ,

    i have a computer that has an abit mother board, im not sure what program to download to help you see what versions i have etc so could you help me please?

    1. what program is free to download and will tell me what spec i have so i can paste it here
    2. I use driveragent and it keeps saying device unknown ABT2005 (description not found)

    i dont know what version of bios or guru if thats the right word im using

    can anyone help me please?

    The Belarc Advisor from Belarc - System Management For The Internet Age should give you the info that you're looking for. You might be able to get what you want by running dxdiag, but the Belarc report will be way more complete.

    You'd probably better off posting in the ABIT forums, but I think there's a pretty good chance that's uGuru.

    If not Everest Ultimate Edition - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com will give you a good list of your parts.

    It could be really simple, the program doesn't have the aBit drivers available for your board yet. The message does seem fairly self explanatory....

    I wouldn't worry about it much, chipset drivers either work from the start, or never work 100% despite numerous revisions. I've got the same board and I've got no problems with the drivers that came on the CD with it, despite running Vista 64.

    I find CPUz quitie a good computer information tool - v small too - only 520 kb or so.

    will tell you what exactly you are running and sometimes provide a link where to get the drivers from
