    Burning flac

    Hi everyone
    My problem is I cant burn flac files with a sata drive, using ide or usb drives there is no problem, dosnt matter what software I use ie Nero Burrrn etc dosnt make any difference.
    Motherboard is Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD BIOS is latest, firmware on drive is up to date, tried 3 different drives, Samsung, LG, Pioneer all sata all wont burn flac but will burn wav, dvd etc.
    Any body any ideas please ?

    Are you burning FLAC as data or as an audio CD/DVD?

    If you are trying to burn it as an audio CD/DVD, your burning software may not have the right codec to convert the FLAC file.

    Im burning as audio cd, funny thing is it burns ok using an ide drive or usb drive so codecs ok

    That makes no sense at all.

    As fas as the drive is concerned it is just being fed the data, it doesn't matter what the source is. Likewise if the app can decode the FLAC and send the bitstream to the writer, it shouldn't care if it is IDE, USB or SATA.

    Of course, if could easily be a bug in Nero.

    Did you make .cues? Try using the cue file if you did, bit odd though..

    Hrm..i would say it is the drivers for the SATA ports that might be at fault...
