Need help - connecting xbox360 to a pc monitor

hey im new to these forums so hey
basically my scart lead went on my 360 so i bought a VGA HD AV CABLE so i could connect it to my lg monitor. ive pluged it in to the vga slot and into the xbox but no picture is coming though?
any help would be very much appreciated.

Are you sure the monitor is set on the vga input and not the dvi input.

There normal a small source button on the monitor somewhere that quite often looks like an arrow going into a box.

Just a side note when you connected it up were there any other inputs on the monitor or just one.

no button and only 1 input on the monitor.

its a lg flatron w2252s if that helps

As the console starts, press and hold the Y button as you pull the right trigger.

nah it has worked so i guess my 360 is just messed up then. gona buy a brand new scart lead tomoz for it to determine for sure.

Should boot straight onto a VGA. I used to have my 360 connected to an LG monitor with no problems.
