sound problems. :(

hi all,
The audio on my freind computer isnt playing out of his speakers. When i check the hardware, all I see under sound controllers is blutooth hands free audio, bluetooth stereo audio and a tv card. the leveller when you click the sound icon in the taskbar still moves up and down. when i try to update the bluetooth device it says that the pc isnt compatible. please help as this is causing me alot of stress.

Try using Belarc Advisor

It'll give you a full system report of what's what.

I forgot to say its a dell. so it has a sh***y dell motherboard

I would get the service tag from it then and pump it into the dell site and download the relevant audio drivers.

If you are running Vista go to control panel and hunt down the sound devices. If you hunt around in the options there you should find an option to show hidden devices. Do so and you should find some devices that are disabled. Enable them. Worth a go.
