Is My CPU Bottlenecking My 4870?

Hey guys i just bought a sapphire 4870 1gb and i haven't noticed that much improvement from my old 8600gts
for example i ran a far cry 2 test

    1440x900 DX10 Very High Settings
and i get an amazing 26.35 fps

    then i ran a 640x480 DX9 Low Settings
and i get some pretty NICE results 56.29 fps

i also get about 45 FPS in COD4 Single Player 1920x1080 MAX Settings 4X AA

    my current system is
    AMD X2 4800+
    4GB Ram
    Ati 4870 1GB
    Foxconn A6VMX Mobo
    500GB HD

So what do you guys think?

There could be a slight bottleneck but your FPS seem fine, COD4 could be better I think. Do you play at 1920x1080 all the time as doing so will eliminate bottleneck.

If changing the resolution makes a difference in FPS then no, your CPU is not bottlenecking.

If I overclock I have a similar CPU speed and I only bottleneck at lower resolutions (1280x1024 and below) - at the resolutions I actually play at there is no CPU bottleneck.
