    Windows power usage

Anyone know how to lower the power draw of a laptop running Windows? My Macbook Alu 13" under OSX gets around 4 hours on battery, under Windows 7 Beta it gets 2 hours 30 if im lucky, Whilst OSX is a good functional laptop I do use the machine for a bit of gaming and I am not a fan of rebooting when I want to game so use Windows 7 most of the time on it, and TBH I prefer Windows 7 over OSX (dons flame proof coat).
So other than the usual power saving features is there anything else I can do? for one I notice the CPU doesn't seem to clock any lower than 1.5GHz, surly it doesn't need to be this fast when on battery?
Also the GPU seems to stay at the same speed regardless of being on battery / Power?

Is there any way to lower the power draw without having to load programs up each time I go on battery? (Powerstrip ect)

    Re: Windows power usage

Erm good question, power saver I think its called, basicly the best power saving profile Windows offered, went into advanced options and had a poke around, set the CPU minimum state to 5% but still it wont go below 1.5GHz, I know CPU's have a limited number of power states, any idea how to find out what these states are?
