Help: Connecting TV to pc speakers

Hi there. Due to a change in financial circumstances, I'm not allowed to buy any more gadgets so need to work with what I have here and am desperate to get some decent sound around here. This is what I have:

Creative Inspire P5800 5.1 pc speakers with 3.5mm inputs for front/rear/sub and an aux in. These came with a now-dead pc a few years back, mostly unused but ok quality. Pc components can always be ripped out for reusing.
Sony Bravia KDL40S2510 with left/right phono output.
Sky+ HD box with left/right phono output and optical audio output.
PS3 (40GB) - haven't checked the audio output, don't use this as much as sky but more than wii so would like to be able to hook it up for gaming.

Now these clearly don't connect directly to each other but is there any setup that could possibly work? I can't actually buy anything new apart from cheap connectors!

You'd need some sort of switch to get sound to all of your devices...

That's a good idea, now it's just working out how to get it feeding into the pc speakers.

That'd work on the aux input but won't give the surround sound the front/rear/sub inputs will. Is there anything similar that could split them out?

Re: Help: Connecting TV to pc speakers

Personally I got a mixer not a switch

This allows me to play all the sounds from my various sources at the same time through the same set of speakers and balance the levels. As the mixer is not on a computer its easy to do while playing games etc. Ok bieng a 19" rack unit it is big but its works wells, Tv (video and pvr from down stairs), dvd, cable and 2 computers all go through it. Its also good having a master level as the volume control on my speakers does not seem to affect the volume of headphones.

Re: Help: Connecting TV to pc speakers

I was in the same boat... and sadly I didn't come up with a cheap solution either. I just ended up sticking a PC in there. Although this isn't practical as everything has to have it's sound passed through the PC, so that always has to be on - but it's ideal for the bedroom where I use the PC as a PVR and don't need hugely powerful or high quality speakers.

You would need some sort of 6 channel digital to analogue converter to do it without a PC.
