    Help With Sound Card Drivers

I have a Creative SB X-Fi sound card which does not work with my speakers at ALL. I checked all connections and installed the latest drivers, but that's just it: with my old drivers it worked perfectly!
However, now that I installed Windows 7 it automatically downloaded the latest drivers and I can't rollback. I tried finding the old one manually but I couldn't find it. =/
    Any ideas?

    Creative Windows 7 Driver Support

Every time I've installed the X-FI drivers in Win 7 and Vista I've had to change the default playback device from "SPDIF" to "Speakers" in the sound control panel. You can get to sound control panel by right clicking the speaker icon on the right of the task bar and selecting "Playback devices".

It's also worth disabling the SPDIF devices and any other playback devices if you don't use on them on playback device menu.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Help With Sound Card Drivers

Funnily enough I had the same problem on my Dads pc today when I installed Win 7. I sorted it out by directly downloading the latest Xifi xtreme music drivers from the creative website.

"It says setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system"
I checked and it's FULLY inserted, it also shows up in devices.

Re: Help With Sound Card Drivers

make sure you select the correct card when u dl the drivers, also some xfi cards are 3rd party and may need 3rd party drivers such as the MSI and sonas ones I think
