Exclamation My system is FAIL to overclock ! ! ! PLEASE HELP ! ! !

    Hi, all

READ EVERY SINGLE CHARACTERS BEFORE PM PLEASE ! ! ! I Spent a long time to think and type all these with my BROKEN HEART ! ! !

I just recently built my own system, and is working perfectly fine, however, when I come to overclocking my system, it FAIL ! ! !

Right, let me tell you the symptom:
As you all know, in order to overclcok the CPU, RAM etc, you need to go into the BIOs, so I got into the BIOS and start changing the setting (I DID NOT overclock alot, I stayed in a safe range, like just couple of MHz above the reference speed), after I done, I exit and save changes, and as ALL you know, after exit and save, the system will restart itself.

And here the problem comes, the system can power up, but it's not showing up anything, the monitor doesn't display anything, and AS ALL YOU KNOW (again! lol) if the monitor doesn't have any input, it put itself into sleep mode, that's what I got. So I have to hold down the power button on the tower case until it shut down, then I press the power button again, this time it runs, it seems no problem, but after the first screen, which is the logo for the made of the motherboard, it shows up a screen saying Failure of Overclock (something like that or similar), and it give me 2 chooses, 1: press F1 to go into BIOS and change the settings, 2: press F2 to restore to default settings and continue.

So I chose F1 to back into BIOS and do it over again, and still FAIL, so I go back again, and put all settings back to default but just overclock the RAM to 1866MHz (my RAM's stock speed is 1600MHz, also the BIOs setting only give some set of frequency to use: 1066MHz, 1333MHz, 1600MHz, 1866MHz and 2xxxMHz[I forgot the exact number]), it STILL FAIL, so I go back again, and put ALL settings back to default, and uses Asus overclocking profile, which it have 3 levels (I forgot what are those levels called), and I chose Xtreme level, because I want my system to run VERY VERY fast which it can cope with Crysis, Crysis Warhead with smooth and high fps.

However, the setting only put JUST the CPU frequency (or something similar) to 1.4GHz EVERY OTHER things are in Auto, so I then exit and save changes, however, it comes up the same problem, which monitor have no input, so I need to HARD POWER OFF my computer and put ALL settings back to DEFAULT.

And now I'm left with the reference speed of all my almighty components which costed me more than 1000 pounds to explain and find HELP from all you guys ! ! !

Also I wanted to overclock my Graphics Card as well, using RiverTune and the instruction on CustomPC Magazine issue 71 page 111. When I using the RiverTune to overclock the GPU core frequency to 728MHz my computer immediately turn to BSOD (Blue Screen Of .......... I don't want to continue say that, it's toooo sad). Therefore, I restarted my PC and do it again, but this time I put the GPU core frequency straight to 718MHz which it should work just right, however, it shows up the BSOD AGAIN ! Come on MAN, even the GTX275 can overclock to 745MHz on issue 71 page 112, why my card CAN'T ?! My card is a level above the 275 which should be better than that, eventhough it won't be MUCH better but I'm expecting at least a little better ! ! !

Thanks for ALL YOU GUYS, thanks for your time, and I'm GREAT DEMAND of help ! ! !

    p.s. My system components:
    Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2
    CPU: Intel Core i7 920 D0 stepping
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 285 N285UD-1GH (graphics card will upgrade to ATi Radeon HD 5970 in the future)
    RAM: Corsair xms3 2GBx3 DDR3 1600MHz RM-R36GH8X
Hard Drive: (only) Hitachi 500GB SATA-II 16MB 7200rpm (hdd will upgrade to Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB x2 RAID0 because I ran out of storage)
    DVD-RW: LG 22x DVD-RW SATA
    PSU: ACBel 750W
    Case: SilverStone TJ07B-W V2

The voltage set for the ram is probably wrong. Check the label on your ram and set your VDIMM accordingly. At default voltage it should run at 1066.

What power supply are you using?

When you boot up with overclock failure, the CPU will be running at minimum speed possible (around 1.4Ghz?). Which suggest either your voltage setting is wrong, or your PSU cannot boot up the system at stock speed.

If you keep getting the overclock failed message every time you boot your system even without overclocking, you probably did not ever run at stock speed.

    1) Overclocking your system won't help with Crysis/Warhead fps.

    2) All your components are working as they promised. Spending more money on a component does not guarantee that it will do more than the specified reference speeds.

    3) Most likely causes of failure to overclock even slightly in this case are the PSU or cooling. What is your PSU? What is your case? What are your fans?

Following on from Kalniel, just because you've spend 1k on a system does not mean it will overclock.

In addition to the above questions, what heat sink are you running on the CPU?

Never heard of that PSU manufacturer, but searching on the net it seems to be okay. Besides, I wouldn't expect it to fail at overclocks as mild as them if it can manage stock.
