    aquos sharp tv issue, help!

ive only just bought this tv of my mother......150 at a deal but it now EVERY day doesnt work correctly...heres a quick run down of what happens and what i have to do,

try and switch it on, the screen will flick on but then after a few seconds will flick of again, there is however sound. i will have to stand there for about 3 mins turning it on and off. it did do this when my mother had it, but only once or twice, ive a feeling its a backlight issue but once it does come on the tv is fine! what am i to do? the tv is a good 3 year old now

to be clear is this issue only when you use it with the computer or also when you use it as a TV. If both then it could be an inverter issue which would be a repair or replace depending on the cost. If it is only when the PC is connected then it is almost certainly the settings used, is this over DSUB or DVI/HDMI and what res and refresh settings are you using and are they the recommended settings?

oh no its with all normal use, i had the feeling it was the inverter, im just worried that if i replace it, it will not work lol, ive built computers and took old tvs apart so ive got a good idea but its just sourcing a inverter! any idea on that one??

    ""edit""
i forgot to mention that the tv now will turn on for a few mins then just go off, it now does this constantly!! driving me insane
