EyeFinity advice please

Hello,

I've been looking into installing an EyeFinity setup that uses 3 x Dell 2405FPW monitors.

Being very new to this and entirely ignorant I have a few questions that I'd appreciate some help with.

1: Which ATI card should I get? This is mainly going to be used for gaming (Borderlands, Left 4 Dead (1&2), Battlefield 2 (and 3 when it comes out) Eve and a few others, but mainly FPS games), but also some photo editing with Photoshop stuff as well.

My current card is a Nvidia 9800 GX2 which works perfectly. I've been looking at the ATI 5800 series, but would they have the power to run such games with the three monitors at a decent resolution (current am used to using 1 x 24" at everything high). Or would I need to go up to the 5900 series?

I ask as the 5900 series are MUCH more expensive, and the price could scupper the whole project, where as the 5800 series I might be able to stretch to - but don't want to end up buying a £250 5800 to have it completely underperform on the gaming side of things and ruin it all.

2: Is this entirely pointless as my CPU is going to be the bottleneck of the project?

Current CPU is: Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 OC'd to 3.5ghz
