Dying Mobo... replace mobo, or massive upgrade?

I've got an Abit IP35 Pro that seems to be dying. It's highly unstable, and the problem seems to be with the memory subsystem. I've got plenty of sticks of RAM kicking about, and regardless of what sticks I'm using, it's still unstable and I regularly get memory errors. So... conclusion so far is that the mobo is dying somehow.

I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading everything - it's not exactly a slow system anyway (see <----- My System), so I'm contemplating a replacement socket 775 mobo. I've had my Q6600 overclocked to 3GHz, so the new mobo has to be at least capable of that.

So... recommendations for a socket 775 mobo?

Or would it be more sensible to sell the Q6600, and make the move to i7?

If you're happy with the system then just grab any P35 motherboard and it should do the job seeing as 3Ghz isn't exactly a high overclock for a Q6600.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Fraz, it's worth bumping up the voltages a little bit over time to compensate for wear and tear, more so when pushing things.

You don't need to go crazy - just alter a bit and see if you get any improvement. I know you're the last person I need to mention capacitors degrading / electromigration too, so just give it a shot before anything drastic.

That and memory errors can easily be PSU related - worth checking bud

Yeah, I'm going to do a bit more poking about before I file it in the dustbin - I've already tried upping the MCH voltage, and it didn't help. I'm prob going to spend another evening trying to coax it back to stable life, but that's it.

Got this one in the end. Seemed like a very reasonable price for a lot of motherboard.

Also accidentally just bought a 160GB Intel X25 G2 SSD drive.
