    Strange Problem

Hello! I've recently built a new PC for my dad which includes a Gigabyte MA77OT-UD3P, an Amd x2 550, 4gb crucial ballistix Ram and a coolermaster switching power 460W PSU. The problem is that whenever I shut down the machine, I cannot turn it on again without first removing the power cable, then reinserting it and then pressing 'on'. Any ideas, it's pretty annoying to have a problem like this on a new build and want to get it sorted. If you need any more system specs just holler. Cheers.

    Re: Strange Problem

Well I've finally narrowed it down to the attaching of the PSU fan monitor to the motherboard. As soon as I remove this, the problem goes away...Is this a problem and why is it happening?

    Re: Strange Problem

The only connection I can think of between the PSU fan monitor and the motherboard booting up would be the Negative or grounding connection.

I presume the fan monitor cable only has the middle speed-adjusting wire, right? Or does it have all three wires (red, black and usually yellow in the middle). Does the fan run when the monitor isn't connected?
