Gmail puts copies of sent email in my inbox

I'm very confused. Ever since I set my work address as a send-as address in Gmail I get a copy of email I send to it from Gmail in my Gmail inbox... my brain's hurting. Any ideas what's going on?

I think it's just a "feature". It does it to me as well.

You can maybe turn it off in a menu somewhere, but I've never bothered loking.

I've looked through all the menus and cannot figure out how to turn it off, I suspect it's a bug or a "feature" as you put it.

Can't you just create a filter to detect any emails sent from that address and then force them to go into sent items?
