Businesses, How do you guys store your Photos?

We've product/solution photos that we wish to store internally and make available to our guys on the road.

We've Sharepoint (WSS not full blown), the basic gallery functions are terrible, but the security/LDAP is there which is great.

My questions are;

Do any of you do this/similar?

How do you guys do it?

Our users say they want something like iTunes (tagging, search, pretty etc), which made me think of Picasa but thats more of a desktop app. I've no idea how other people achieve this, so do tell!

It needs to allow other users to publish/share their photos, and this is all for internal access only.

We have a ubuntu box that runs gallery2.

Only one depratment has access to upload photos while the rest of us can view them.
