    Windows on an iMac issues

    Hey all,

I have an issue I was hoping someone may be able to help with an issue I have.
I have a late 2008 iMac with OS X and Windows XP installed.
I boot the Mac into Windows from time to time to play a game (Star Trek Online) - this all runs perfectly fine but more often than not when I try to shut down the system at the end of the session it gets to the 'Windows is Shutting Down' screen but then just hangs here ....

Does anyone know how to stop this and let the system just shut down properly?
I have been forced to just hold the power button down to shutdown the system but this is far from ideal. My Mac power supply went about a week ago which I replaced and now have a feeling that me keep turning my Mac off in this way caused this to blow so dont want this happening again.

Any help would be VERY greatfully received.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum also.

    Kind regards,

did you ever reinstall xp? what happens?

i have had a few times that mac wouldnt shut down properly but after fixing the permissions and also performing the disk repair it fixed it. maybe its worth a try? are you by any chance using fat32 for your xp?
