    lost RAID

    Hi, I need advice.
I have a n5200 pro, 5 disks raid 5. We had a power surge that got past the UPS. My n5200 seems to be ok, 5 disks report correctly. No drives are offline. The log is blank.
But, it says : No Raid. The RAID screen shows 5 drives without a filesystem.

I would like my RAID back. If I create a new RAID 5 with the same default settings I had before, will my files be there? Or do I need to do something else?

    Advice?

No, as the process of creating the new array will format the filesystem. I had a very similar problem with an N8800 - I pulled a disk as a last resort and *boom* array started rebuilding after a reboot. That's not to say that this will happen to you, but as it's a RAID5 array you have little if anything to lose. Once the array had rebuilt (and I'd run vendor diags on the disk that I'd pulled to verify that there was no fault) I put the disk back in and the array rebuilt fine again.

Yep, under no circumstances should you attempt to create a new raid.
