    Matrix Raid

After making my RAID 0 setup I have learned about this thing called matrix raid. You guys probably know all about it already... Using this with my 3 drives I am planning to have 1/3 of it in RAID 0 and the other 2/3 in RAID 5. Is this a good idea?
So 1/3 of each drive (middle platter areas) will be raid 0. Giving 320gb/3x3= 320gb of RAID 0
    and
2/3 of each drive will be raid 5. Giving 320gb*3*2/3*2/3= 426gb of raid 5.

Then if one drive dies, the data on the raid 5 bit can be recovered, but I lose all the data on the raid 0 bit.

Will this work well? Will there be crazy CPU usage? Comments please.

    Cheers

I dont know about CPU usage but I would be interested in finding out.
Also, recovering can be a PITA on intel Matrix RAID as well.

So anyone know anything about this? Guess I will have to give it a go and see what happens
