Question microsoft wireless optical mouse 2000 scroll problem

After using the mouse for about half an hour the scroll wheel suddenly stops operating. To cure it I just have to remove the batteries for a couple of seconds. It is then fine for another similar amount of time. The mouse does not have an off switch which would have made it easier to correct the problem. Has anyone come across this problem and is there a solution. I am using windows vista.

Re: microsoft wireless optical mouse 2000 scroll problem

I have a number of these mice and the sympton you describe is common when the batteries are on the way out. A set of good batteries tend to last between six and twelve months dependant on 'activity' but loss of action usually results in total replacement.
