    New build is having issues

Hey all I just built the following new system:

intel i7 930 @ stock with stock heatsink
    Gigabyte ga-x58-usb3
    corsair ddr3 1600MHZ fan,
1tb samsung HDD, (from old build)
    FSP everest 1010w PSU
ATI 4850 GPU (from old build)
LG sata Dual layer dvd writer.

I've been getting alot of issues with this in the past few days.

    1. it wasnt recognisnig the RAM properly and when I set it to read from the SPD it wouldnt boot, got that fixed by reinstalling windows,

    2. It doesnt like it if i try and set up a raid with a 2nd identicle HDD, windows installs but crashes on boot.

    3. yesterday when i turned on the computer it wouldnt boot and gave me a warning along the lines of system cannot boot as Overclocking settings have caused the voltage to be too high, even though I havent overclocked the system at all.

    4. turned it on today, booted to windows and it randomly turned off the system.

Any ideas what is causing these problems??

or any software I could use to find out? I've not build a new pc in years so im abit rusty

I'd say try upgrading to the latest BIOS for your board first, and take it from there.

It could be a faulty psu, try testing it out in another computer to see if it works...

Re: New build is having issues

just a quick update got this message earlier

just got the following message when I booted the system up.

The system failed to boot due to overclocking or voltage changes. Settings changed to last known settings.

I'm now pretty certain its the PSU as I've not overclocked at all I've just used the extreme memory proiler (X.M.P) to set all settings to the SPD defaults of the hardware.

The system has rest the ram from 1600mhz to 1066 mhz and the cpu isnt at its proper clock speed.

for some reason I now cant boot windows so reinstalling for thethird time this weekend.

Should I take the PSU down to the shop I bought it in or should I bring the whole system ( bought everything minus the GPU and one of the HDD's from their.

Re: New build is having issues

It could always be a dodgy mobo as the problems lie in multiple areas.

And with regards to bringing it to the shoip, probably best to speak to them on the phone as it could save you lugging a PC accross town or whatever. Hopefully they replace it no fuss as its faulty.
