Agree with Dan, Paypal dispute is 45 days iirc so he cant dispute it,

Deffo a cheeky chancer IMO, i would politely tell him that 6 months is too longer to be able to help him and leave it at that.

Also pretty sure with the amount of time that has gone feedback cant be left now anyway, so dont worry about getting Neg feedback.

I bought a Nikon lens last week off ebay, tested it straight away, found there were issues, and had contacted the seller within 8hours of receiving the lens and sorted out what we were going to do.

That's the way it should, it's both the sellers AND the buyers responsibility to make sure everything is as it's supposed to be. Anything more than a few days is taking the p!ss, to come back after 6 months would probably just be met with a "foxtrot oscar" from me.

You'll be fine on the feedback front:

As most people have said, the lad doesn't have a leg to stand on. There is no way he has had it stored away for 6 months before trying to use. He's obviously messed it up himself and is trying to pass it off as damaged.

It's possible the 6 months is legit. Very improbable, but possible. One example situation would be being taken seriously ill just after receipt. As I say, certainly not probable, but possible. Mind you, he still doesn't have any grounds for action, even if that was the reason.

It's also possible he's got nothing between his ears and is a bottom feeder.

    We're talking ebay after all.

Indeed we are, and it has a variety of types of users, from honest and respectable to utter scum .... a bit like a cross-section of humanity really.

I am not suggesting that this had happened, and indeed had already said what I thought the likely situation was. My comment was directly in response to (hence quoting it)

There is indeed a way (or more than one) that could have happened, quite legitimately. Not a probable way, but a possible one.

an "amicable" agreement would be that you don't call him a "cheeky ******" and send the boys round.

that would, in my opinion, be amicable.

I know that by checking the number you get the model but what i got was a hold bundle with cpu fan still attached. I just left it to 1 side without taking it apart.
