D-Link 556 Desktop Adapater

I ordered a the following wireless adapter: D-Link PCIe DWA-556 and I tried installing the utility CD that came with it however when I do nothing happens, the utility software closes.

Plus when I put it into the PCIe slot, windows doesn't detect a "new hardware" :/ even though the green light on the adapter flashes.

I have tried installing the updated drivers from D-Link and changed the it to a different PCIe slot but still the same, I have a Asus Maximus IV Extreme motherboard running Windows 7 64.
