    i5 2500K over clock - Memory timings

My Q6600(at 3.4Ghz) went pop in December, saving ever since - sold an Airsoft rifle etc etc

I have a Corsiar SSD and a ATI 512mb 487o card and a one tera drive ready

    i need to buy ( i think )

    Intel Core i5 2500K plus
    Alpenfohn Matterhorn both for £191.99
    LN38035 Asus P8P67-M Rev3 £92.39

I want to try for 4.5Ghz but which ram do i get ?

    8GB (2x4GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-27, 1.65V £52.99 £63.59
    8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, XMP, 1.50V

I know the vengence will interfere with the fan but it was the same with my SCYTHE NINJA and patriot ram - i just moved fan up a few rungs on the heatsink
If it is not practical i will put the fan on otherside (in pull mode) and bung some light plastic on side to act as ducting and draw air across fins )

But the ram things is a problem, i just dont see enough indepth ifo on timings and guides
On the old system i had the ram uderclocked to 955mhz and it was okay

Should i worry about this or it gonna have too little effect to notice

    thx

    COCO

Have you bought the parts yet? The Z68 motherboards are starting to enter retail and AFAIK Gigabyte is stopping production of P67 motherboards and replacing them with Z68 based ones.

AMD Bulldozer is out next month and this will mean more competitive pricing. On top of this there is the possibility it will perform quite well too.
