    memory timings question

    I brought myself some of that corsair ddr 2 that was in the bargin section got it today swopped it and it all works fine , i thought i'd use cpu-z to see what the timings are and it shows it the freq at 266.9mhz FSB DRAM 1:1 cas 4 and command rate 2t, I'm not really familiar with memory timings etc.. but does this seem right i would have thought the freq should be alot more the ram is DDR2 PC2-5400 (675MHz)CL4

    DDR = Double data rate.

    Your FSB is 266, so double the data rate = 533mhz ish.

    Edit: If you were able to run your cpu at 333FSB, then your ram would run 1:1 @ its rated speed of 667 (ish). You can also try a divider, and keepp the cpu at 266.

    Depends on the ram and the rest of your system.

    Try a divider first if you dont want to overclock.

    A divider just allows you to keep the cpu running at say 266, and the ram to run at either 533, 667, 800, 900, 1066...depends on the board and ram, and what they can do. most board will have some basic ones.

    I'm not familiar with your board sorry, so I'm not sure where to direct you in the bios...at a guess I would say to try in the memory timings bit, or near where you adjust the cpu speed maybe?
