    New Build CPU_LED RED

    Hello,

I have recently built a new rig and when I turn it on, the fan on the system and the graphics card spin, yet nothing happens. The monitor does not awaken either.

    My system consists of:
    Asus M5A97 Evo MOBO
    AMD Phenom II 1100T BE
    Radeon 6790 GPU
    Corsair TX650W Power Supply

The power supply has 1 12PIN and One 2X4Pin connector . . no 8PIN as the MOBO needs, so I used both 4 Pin connectors in the 8PIN Slot even though some of the cuts on the pins did not match the MOBO.

Here are the steps I have tried so far.

    Took MOBO out of case
    Unplugged everything from the MOBO
Put MOBO on cardboard and installed 1 stick of ram/cpu/heatsink/video card
    Attached Power
Used screw driver to trip machine and start . . . .

    Same Problem!

    Any Ideas?

Umm, please remove that PSU from the 8pin connector on the motherboard before it kills your PC! Never force a PSU pin to fit, the 4pin should fit in the 8pin CPU socket fine!

    Re: New Build CPU_LED RED

I originally had one 4 pin connector, as it showed in the MOBO manual connected and it was still giving me the solid red light. Any steps I can take to figure out the problem?

Try with one stick of ram, but make sure you connect the 4pin CPU power properly.
