    Wierd SN45G Problem, Help!

Ok this is a new one for me, Ive put my vid card, memory and DVDRW in my SN45G as ive sold off most of my main pc as im getting a high powered shuttle soon (I felt now is the time to sell up and bank the cash), anyhow all booted up fine and as usual reported my CPU as 1.1GHZ, no worrys there I think ill go into the bios select 200Mhz FSB and have my 2500+ running at 3200+ speeds (it can do it), upon restat I get nothing, weird I think, could be the ram as it likes 2,8v for 200MHz+ which could be the only downfall with my shuttle plan as Shuttles dont allow DDR Volt adjust do they?
So I try 166FSB, same blank screen, same with 133MHz, weird I think, So i reset the bios again, which by now is pissing me off as its located just behind the AGP card
So on boot its giving me the usual cant find floppy crap so i go into the bios againand disable boot up floppy seek, upon restart again blank screen, so now it seems that any change in the bios results in the machine not booting
IT was working at 166FSB before.

Heres the specs before when it was fine at 166MHz

    SN45G V2.0
    2500+
    1x 512mb stick of Corsair XMS 2700
    Crappy old Geforce 2 MX
    CDRom
    Samsung 80GB HDD

Ive removed the ram CDROM and vid and added the following :

    9700 PRO
    NEC 8x DVDRW
    2x 512mb Mushkin PC3500 LII (BH5) Ram

So unless theres incompatabilitys with the new hardware im stumped, only thing I can think of is the ram isnt getting enough juice but at 133 or 166 MHz it should be fine with the 2.6v its supplying?

Any ideas? I dont wanna be stuck at 1.1GHz...

Hmm another reboot and not going into the bios later and its picked it up and set the FSB to 166MHz and the memory to 200MHz, any ideas whats up in the bios? tempted to leave it at this for now as I just need a stable pc, would like it running at 3200+ speeds so i have a half decent pc untill I upgrade.

The SN45 does allow memory voltage adjust if i remember rightly (cba to reboot and find out atm) i ran 2 * 256 sticks of the exact same mushkin for ages at 200fsb without changing the voltage though so it shouldn't be a problem. much over 200fsb stable is a problem in all amd shuttles that i know of but there shouldn't be any troubles o/c'ing the 2500 to 3200 speeds. Do you know what version the bios is?

hmm this is strange, the bios ID for this board is FN41SP-6A61BH2CC-00

I thought the FN41 was the mobo in the SN41G2 and the one in the SN45 is the FN45?

There have been quite a few compatability problems between the 45g and certain brandes of memory. Mushkin definately and if remember correctly twinmos. Corsair and also OCZ- which i have some of- works fine!

Cheers, The guys over at Sudhian recomend these sticks :

    Kingston HyperX 1GB (2x512MB) DDR PC4000

Due to only needing 2.6v for 500MHz

Yes 500MHz is overkill for a SN45G but I plan to get the SB95G5 when its out and 230 - 250 FSB may be possible and this ram will be perfect for that system
