Question Sometimes it boots...sometimes it dont..

Got an old PIII 500 belonging to a friend. Prob is, sometimes it posts & powers up normally & sometimes it doesn't post at all. When it doesn't post the CPu fan powers up but the HDD doesn't. Power supply maybe?

I have removed all the cards, ram & processor & re-seated but the problem persists. Seems very random.

    Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Well I recon the mobo's about the only thing it could be realistically. Everything bar the mobo & CPU I know is AOK.
