    :( crash

On my way to work this morning, went over a bit of a bump and lost control of the bike. Went in to hospital at 10am, and i sat in a bed till 6 when a doc came.
Broken ankle and quite a bit of skin gone, and the bike is pretty wrecked but at least im alive. Damn bikes

This should be in the 'find me a bargain' section, since you will be requiring a new bike....

Joking aside, sorry to hear it and good luck on a speedy recovery. Have you got a gf to look after you? or will you be telling ladies in disco's that ur Tom Cruises stuntman on holiday??

Sure I'm not the first one to think it.. but.. silly git. I hope you aren't too badly broken, but it has to be said.. leathers woulda stopped the cuts. Decent boots would have saved your ankle. Believe me - I have learnt the lessons the hard way. Thankfully I didn't break my foot off cos I was wearing my boots.. but that's how I learned that one... What size are you? maybe I could interest you in a pair of size 42 Sidi's????

You can have an accident pulling out of your driveway mate so distance is no excuse

Sorry to hear about the accident though.

If you want to know why leathers are important then read the story below, don't read it if your easily disturbed or at lunch .
Apparently it's true and I know the road it happened on and had been told by a few people around the area when I started to ride my C90 around the place in shorts and a T-Shirt.

This is by far the best reason for wearing leathers at all times, near to where I used to live in Wales (nr New Castle Emlyn) is a long straight coast road with a cross roads on it. A biker on a Harley type thing was riding down the road at a reasonable speed but not over the speed limit when a car pulled out in front of him, he almost managed to avoid it but while skiding past the back end off the bike cliped the car and sent him flying of the bike. He was probably only doing about 20-30mph at that point.

Thing was he had a leather Jacket on and a Lid with gloves but he was wearing tight jeans, he slide down the road on his front for about 200 yards, not exact a great distance but in that distance, the tarmac went straight through his jeans and removed his penis as well as most of his knee caps and legs. When I say his penis was removed it was ground down until there was very little left and so was also impossible to repair, leaving just a trail on the ground.

The first time I heard that story I thought it was a wind up, then I heard it about 6 times from serveral different people and every one of the local bikers or bike nuts, either way it made me start to think twice about risking going out on the bike with out leathers.

Why is it leathers are so good? Is it just the natural strength of the material compared with say cotton??
