Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.
Shipping cost of RMA on a new item should not be charged to customer. For those that do, suggest return for refund (not replacement) under distance selling rules and buy again.
Scan bashing really is en vogue at the moment.
I've had cause to RMA three times with Scan over the years (last one was a couple of weeks ago) and, other than a slight delay on one item, the process has been fairly painless.
I don't think its Scan bashing, just some people have bad experiences and don't always mention it, myself included, just because I haven't been on the forum about it doesn't make me less happy about the situation, just I haven't said anything, seems a few people have had a few issues lately and can understand where they are coming from.
As with anything some people never have any problems and other people do.

Tbh I've never seen any motherboards that are sealed in cellophane anyway.
Maybe they mean the box with a 'don't accept if this seal is broken' sticker.
Glad you got this sorted and sorry that "sdcan bashing" is being discussed but felt the need to comment, Scans RMA process is simply the WORST! there experts will always make it your fault. I have complaints going back with scan for 5 years or so. great website bad service. I have been impressed with the Amazon RMA service (UK)
I am the gadget man!
Oh dude those are some bent pins. The pins on intel sockets are REALLY REALLY weak and will bend out of shape from just about any touch. Never touch the socket!
You can try to CAREFULLY realign the pins using a needle (and a magnifying glass if you have one handy). If it doesn't work, I'm afraid the board's a goner.
