weird color profile appears to be set, or ive lost all red on the graphics card.

im relatively embarrassed to say i can't fix this. i've no idea where to start, its just something i've never seen before.

so ive got a decent nvidia card and a dell 28" 4k display. so decent enough kit. both less than a year old.

ive got the following colours on the homepage, absolutely no red in there to my untrained eyes. and i can't work out if i've set it or if its an actual failing conponent.

ive looked in display, i've looked in color management, ive reset the settings on the monitor.

is there anywhere else to look?

should add windows 8.1 up to date, latest nvidia drivers.

looks off color to me. which i think proves something. doesn't that make it the display?

since the first image was taken with snipping tool.

this below, taken with mobile phone and uploaded.

that kind of hints there is an issue with the monitor...

    i think.

i can't be totally sure, since i've just added an image that i can't tell what it looks like, cos i think ive got a monitor with an issue. lol.

The first image with the snipping tool looks absolutely fine, the second image is purple and green which obviously isn't right.

Have you tried a different cable? And also on the monitor should be a factory reset option, I would try that too.

Re: weird color profile appears to be set, or ive lost all red on the graphics card.

tried both mate, thanks for the reply.

swapped a cable out, using displayport to minidp, no difference. found the reset color settings in the menu on the monitor, hit that, no better. also found the custom color just now which allows change of all three RGB settings, all three adjust the color on the screen, so even with all three at 100 and adjusting all three individually, it changes the color when adjusting all three. wasn't expecting that, was expecting one of them to not change at all, as it felt to me like a single color wasn't changing.

so now im thinking its a monitor issue, but not sure.

gets weirded. robbed an HDMI cable from the ps4, plugged it in, works fine. colors are ok. so not the monitor, definitely the card, something in the setup of the card, some weird color profile.

just noticed also that the card is reading its fan speeds in the gpu tweek app, which i noticed earlier it wasn't.

now to find the drivers for the monitor.

full reinstall of the graphics driver software, turned out to be a corrupt driver.
including the clean install part, nothing else would touch it.
