    Question Possible PSU/Mobo problem?

I have been having a reoccurring problem with my system over the last 6+ months, basically on odd occasions when I switch it on, just before it beeps during the boot up sequence, the system will shut off. Successive attempts to restart the machine will result in the same thing happening and it usually takes several attempts before the system will finally boot properly.

I am assuming that this could be the result of a problem with the PSU or the motherboard, has anyone experienced this problem or have any ideas as to the cause?

Sounds like it could be the PSU - can you swap it with one from another computer to test?
And are you overclocking at all?

I could swap it, but it maybe difficult to test since there is no obvious pattern to the problem. Just thinking about it, I am wondering whether the cause could be low temperatures in the room - could this be causing problems for the psu do you think?

To answer your question, I am not overclocking.
