I use IMAP to connect to mail server while away from home to collect new mail and send mail, this would be another option if the person is on broadband of course.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Thanks but no he isn't. The guy cant even get the hand of a very basic spreadsheet and is IMHO incapable of training. One of these "can't learn, wont learn" brigade that gives us more mature employees a bad name!!!

There is a program called '123 Hidden Sender' that may be of use to you. It was available on downloads.com for a while. but i think they removed it for obvious legal reasons.

few years back, (read good few years!) netscape supported this. Couldn't tell you about now though, or what version it was or even how it was done. You could try version 4, late 90's? Had a bit of fun at work with this for about 30 mins before not being able to keep a straight face :/

You cannot use IMAP to send mail. You are using SMTP
