PC Shutdown

Hey all,

Wondering if you could help. Recently, my PC has started to shut itself down randomly without warning. It sometimes doesn't happen for days, other times it happens within 30 secs of starting up. Its not the proper shut down either, as it comes up with the 'your pc is safe to switch off' screen, which is never normally does.

Thought it might be a virus or spyware, but having run Adaware and Norton Virus scan, nothing came up. Any ideas?

Running w2k, and no HW spec change since Xmas, problems only started a fornight ago. Once repeatedly for one night, then nothing until a few days ago.

I guess worst comes 2 worst, I can try reformatting when i get home from uni, but until then, i need a quick fix, its hard doing work when pc keeps dying on you!

Try a new PSU. The one you are using may be underpowered or faulty.
