    Re: Asus A8N-SLI unseen 2nd 6800
Hi, system has been running stable for weeks now, suddenly i boot up and get a message saying 1 of multi gpu capable graphics cards has been moved and sure enough its dissappeared from device manager too! However the green power on light is ON on both cards.im running the beta 1007-002 bios now, when this happened i had the 1006 installed.
anyone any ideas? many thanks in advance.

Is the card in the PCI-E slot correctly and is the SLI bridge connected 100% as a loose bridge can cause that issue.

Have you tried each card separately in non-SLI mode to determine whether one of the cards is actually dead?

So you get the display, but one of the GPUs is disabled whichever way round you put them. Sorry, but do you mean you just swapped the cards around, or did you try each card with the other completely removed? Wasn't quite clear from your answer.

I don't run an SLI rig, but were it me, as a sanity check I'd try it. If they both work OK individually, then it's down to either a wonky slot or a wonky SLI connection. In normal mode, only the blue slot can be used with a PCI-E X16 graphics card, so you can't really test each slot individually.

edit: How's SLI mode set in the BIOS? And does that match the SLI selector card?
