There is no spyware in Skype, period.
Totally, skype is excellent, saved me around £30 a month in phone bills

Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
where on earth did you hear that?
skype is a peer to peer voice chat (and im) application with interfaces to a POTS network.
Kazaa is built on a peer to peer platform for exchanging files - totally different.
However - Kazaa now bundles skype with kazaa
- critical point -= Skype does not have spyware - kazaaa always has, and always will have spyware.
Uninstall Kazaa and all related cr@p = then download skype from skype.com.
Honestly (warning... rant coming on strong)
How many times have i had to clean kazaa off the machines of people who really should know better? It's a situation where it's exceptionally well known as a stupidly dodgy product, and people say... yeah, well - it may have a few viruses and spyware and things - but it's the only way I can get music/video/pron/whatever... well to you people I say... YOU'RE IDIOTS... seriously, what were you thinking? you might as well throw your PC out and get a mac instead... this way if you try and do something so patently stupid,. all you'll get for your trouble is an annoying "doing" sound - rather than something comaparable to syphillis.
... sorry. it's a bugbear of mine.
in closing - don't download Kazaa ... ever.
Download Skype, use it, share the love. But for god's sake - don't even think of downloading Kazaa. If you do - I'll cut you off at the knees so you'll be a syphilitic dwarf!

Kazzalite is ur friend...
Thats good news, i thought i may have to uninstall it! As for DL Kazza! 'No way Jose'! I'm a Emule Man! I have Skype set up on default,is there a safe way to set it up in my FW (Kerio Free) at the mo i've allowed it outgoing access and to ask for incoming! Should i do that?
Forgive me if Qs sound silly!
Edit; At the Mo i am using a basic Headphones/Mic set up. Do i need anything else?
Also is it ok to allow Skype to look for other users via your PC?
Cheers for your help!

if you downloaded the kazaa package - you should remove the whole thing, then redownload skype.
for skype settings, I'm not sure about kerio - generally upnp services allow the firewall rules to be setup automatically. for what you're asking - you'd require that once you've made a connection to someone, you'd still have to explicitly allow them to talk back to you. just set your personal options to only accept incoming chat and voice from people you've authorised.
My skpye works fine with kerio just let it make an advanced rule. It uses the same nodes system as kazza, but theres never been any implementation of spyware. Why would they ruin a legitimate business (skype-out) by making a infested program. Its safe.
skype was packaged with kazaa (from what I understand) and the other spyware in the kazaa package was causing the (appropriate) mild panic
I never knew they where packedging them together. Kazza's possibly one of the crapptest p2p progs around atm, i didnt know people still used it.
