TBH, you could take ANY floppy drive around with you and use it in any computer, but who would really want to? 2 cables more messy than 1? Maybe, but not if you're only using it for a few minutes.
I re-installed XP the other day when I got my new HDD, used my trusty old floppy drive then, nought wrong with that.
If I knew that my board could boot from USB, I'd use my 1GB Crucial stick instead.
