    New system problem

I have just built a system with an Abit NF8-V mobo and an Athlon 64 3200 CPU. It has 1 Gb PC400 ram and 80 gb maxtor HD.
I have formatted the HD but cannot load any operating system due to the following error message!
"Windows XMS driver unable to control A20 line. XMS driver not installed. Himem.SYS is missing"
    Any help appreciated.
I have built loads of systems but this is the 1st time I have come across this problem.

Alright Tony.... What u might need to do is to boot recovery console or command prompt and expand a new copy of himem.sys into your c:\windows\system32 directory by typing:
    expand d:\i386\himem.sy_ c:\windows\system32\himem.sys
it may ask you if you want to overright if so say yes and hopefully it will boot ok.
    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the info Brow
Sorted it in the end by swapping the mouse and keyboard for new, then clearing the CMOS.
Not as complicated a problem as it first appeared eh?
