DVD RW dosen't recogizes DVD

Right, when i put in a blank dvd disc into my dvd drive it dosen't recogines anything in there ???

Here is a screen of what i mean:


There should be 4.28gb where 0bytes are because a dvd disc is insterted into the disc. This has changed recently and i have not installed or unistalled any software that could lead to this.

This could be a few things, most likely is the Windows burning engine has stopped or has become disabled.
Try making sure recording is enabled for the drive, if it is try restarting the IMAPI CDROM com service and see if that resolves the problem.

You obviously have more than 1 cd burning program (Windows default and InCD at least) and you have not said if either still burn, if they do I wouldnt worry too much about it reporting the size of blank media.....

Thats normal, i wouldn't worry about it. Its just because it hasn't been burned/formatted to yet. Blank Dvd-r's show up like that in mine
