    What the hell is jkhhi.dll???

    What is it?
How do I get rid of it (if necessary)???

    Background:

I fix computers as a part-time job/ hobby and one job I frequently encounter is computers infected with viruses, adware and spyware - with the later being a more recent and growing problem.

I am currently repairing a Dell Dimension 5000 running Windows XPh SP2. I have done scans in Adaware, Spybot S&D & Microsoft's Antispyware Beta and it now comes back with no objects. Firefox is now installed instead of IE. However, a HyJack This! scan finds two instances of this file being mentioned. The file is located in the C:\windows\System32 folder and is in use (so cannot be deleted).

I could try safe mode and remove it there but I really would like to know what it is and how it got there. A Google search for the file came back with nothing so I am at odds as to where to go now.

I think you'll find that the filename is randomly created by the spyware/malware.

boot up with a PE disk and you wont have any problems deleting it

    WinPE ( preinstallation environment )

its allows you to boot into a quasi windows like environment from a CD and access the disk system.

do a google for BartPE ( its probably the bes tknown one )

    Great thanks!

I've downloaded Bart PE and fixed the problem. That's another really useful tool in my growing Adware armoury!!! A PE disk is something I previously thought was unobtainable by humble users. I'm sure I will find it useful on a number of other occasions.

Thanks very much for your help!
