playing a console on a monitor via vivo

Is it possible to do this. I can use something like windows movie maker to get the video, but not the audio at the same time, plus it's only on a very small screen. I'm really looking to be able to view it full screen and get the audio at the same time.

Any programmes that people know would allow me to do this? or any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

to get the audio you'll need to plug the sound coming from the console to the line in on your soundcard. For the video, try DScaler from http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/

I sorry, but could anyone tell me what Vivo is?

Anyway you could buy an external TV tuner box that links the console (and a TV aerial) straight to a monitor with a VGA connector (15 pin.) These sell from £40. Misco at one time had them for £25 but they had to run out of stock.

VIVO = Video In Video Out

i.e. the ability to output video (as all graphics cards can) AND to accept input video.

Is that only valid for the S-Video or Phono / Composite / RCA connectors or oes it also apply for VGA and / or DVi connectors.

I'd second the suggestion to get an external TV tuner box. One big reason for doing this is that you'll tend to get a slight delay in the signal when it's being run through the computer - one that will make playing fast-action games rather difficult.

On the VIVO side, though, if you're really sure you want to do it, then something like ShowShifter could help you get up and running - it's not free, but an older versions been on a number of coverdiscs of late, so you can pick up a copy with a PC magazine that'll do everything you need it to, and you'll have no problems getting that work work full-screen.

However, an external Tuner box does need a mains power supply socket and it is a fairly large unit.....
