Unhappy nVidia GeForce 6600 GT agp problems!

    Hi Guys,
    Need some urgent help here!

    First off my system:
    Tiny Computer
    Win XP Home SP2
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (2000Mhz)
    MSI MS-6741 ver 1 Motherboard
    Chipset K8M800 AMD HAMMER
Graphics nVidia GeForce 6600 GT agp
    Memory 1024 Mb ddr sdram
    200gb hard drive

Whats happened is this, could not install Windows SP2,tried with help from microsoft but computer crashed, eventually got it back up with boot disc, computer now working and ive noticed SP2 is now installed???? And it automatically updates ok.

BUT my graphics card aint working, ran Belarc advisor and in Display it states none detected, tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them but no difference, what comes up is this "The Nvidia setup could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware",Now this cant be true as ive still got the original disc and ive event tried downloading the updated drivers but the same message appears and stops the downloads!!!!!

display is scrolling sooooooo slow, cant play any games.
God im bored without my games need help please guys...what could be wrong.

    Cheers 007geezer

Im pretty sure i had a simlilar problem when i installed some Omega drivers. I had to look through my pc to make sure they had been totally uninstall. Omega drivers messed my pc up - I hate them!!! SP2 doesnt cause me a problem with my 6600GT

Sounds like XP is using the native display drivers, which is default. Thats why its going so slowly.
Could be a hardware issue. Was the card definately working before?

I would suggest a couple of things:
    1. Make sure you have removed all evidence of previous nVidia drivers. Check in add/remove in control panel, and make sure the nVidia forceware drivers aren't listed there.

    2. Turn off your PC, take out the graphics card, and make sure that that contact strip is clean - don't touch it with your fingers, just wipe it with a cloth. Also, make sure the socket is clean - use a brush. Give the card a wiggle when you re-insert to make sure there is good contact.

    Mut.
