    Dodgy SD card

My Kingston 1GB SD card seems to have stopped working today...

My PDA doesn't recognise it, my PC doesn't recognise it, and my camera tells me "this card cannot be used"....

I would normally not think a lot of it, and just format the card, but as I say, I can't cos' the PC doesn't recognise it >.<

Basically, any other ideas to revive the card? It's a Kingston model, and comes with a lifetime warranty, which I guess should cover the card if it's FUBARed.... But what channels should I go through to get a replacement? Ebuyer, from whom I purchased the card, or Kingston direct?

    Cheers

Lifetime warranty... What is the rated life of the of the product and are you still within that lifetime? Assuming you are, the Sale of Goods act says the seller is responsible, but as the seller was ebuyer, and you want to get this replaced in YOUR lifetime, you might be better going to Kingston...

Impossible, as the only thing I own which will even recognise its presence is my camera ~ which won't allow me to select format in the menu :<

Checking out Kingstons webby, it seems that the "proper" way to do it is to go through Ebuyer, however, I can go straight to them - but it'll cost me postage. Which i'm not fussed about, tbh. Going to try and get an RMA today

Just a little update on this one...

Finally got around to opening an RMA with Ebuyer on Thursday morning. Had RMA accepted Thursday midday, and posted the card back Thursday afternoon.
Confirmation of receipt was given Friday morning, and confirmation of return Friday midday.
New card arrived this morning (Saturday)

All in all, very pleased \0/

I had Dell do that to me once.
They charged me, and then shipped the item three months later :|

Now that I have a new one, I think i'm actually gonna sell it on.

Not having it for a while made me realise I don't really need it

The same thing happened to my CF card the other day, kinda caught me off guard, wouldn't really expect a solid piece of plastic to stop working
