Keyboard/Mouse not responding.

Hello!

Ever since I've had my PC, aaaaaaages ago, my keyboard has stopped working every now and then - as in not responding. The remedy is to simply unplug it and plug it back in again.
I don't think it's random. I say that because it happens, for example, just after I die in BF2 or just after I save a document, not when I'm in the middle of a game or whilst I'm typing.
It isn't time based either, because I could leave my PC alone for an hour and it probably wouldn't happen.

Since about 2 days ago, though, the unplug and replug method hasn't worked, and a reboot has been necessary. Whenever this occurs, the mouse stops working at the same time. The PC doesn't lock up, music/video/games will keep playing etc.

What's the chance my mobo's borked?

Everything else is OK, bar sound sometimes (lol see other thread by me).

It's an MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum and an oldschool Gateway/Microsoft Keyboard/Mouse.

Help please!!!

Oh, by the way, re-install of motherboard drivers/windows doesn't work, and I installed SP2 about the time the new problem occured. (Of the unplug/replug not working, that is)

Are you using the IntelliPoint/IntelliType drivers? If not, do so. They should give you a popup if they detect any problems with the keyboard/mouse.

Ooooh come to think of it, I used to use them.... I'll grab a copy.
