Question about MCE 2005 and MCE Remote

    Hi peeps

Am just about to install MCE 2005 and the MCE remote on my new HTPC.

My only concern is that I often flick through big chunks of movies, and one things that really annoys me , is having to fast forward ( even at high-speed ) through hours of footage.

Using the MCE remote is it possible to skip directly to say the end of the film, or halfway point etc. Or do you have to do it DVD player style, and do a high-speed fast forward. With winamp/WMP etc you can just hover the mouse over the progress line thingie, and click, and it will jump to that point - how can you do this in MCE using the MCE remote ?

Sorry , if this isn't very clear

    R

Yes it's clear and no you can't. Very annoying. I'd love to be able to use the number keys to jump to the appropriate part (1=10%, 3=30% etc) but MCE won't play.

The annoying thing is my Myth box used to do it.

Hi, its not possible out the box, but I remember seeing this a while ago that may do what you want:

and the updated final version for Update Rollup 2:

Ok, thanks guys . . . . . will try some of these solutions - just so infuriating that something so simple will stop me from having the media center of my dreams
