I have recently reconnected to the web at home and hame having issues when booting up...as I get to the desktop I keep getting a message stating that NIS does not support the repair utility (screwed up by the NTL broadband software)...I have read in mags that NIS can be a sod to uninstall...can anyone give me a few pointers please.

Use the Norton removal tool!
I've had to uninstall it on a few friends computers. A couple I just had to go to remove programs, but a couple of others were a bit more complicated. Some only needed the norton removal tool but one needed me to use about 4 different programs. It was a b*****d to get rid of.
im pretty sure that in the past, this sort of norton error comes from changing the location of Norton in the start menu.
Have you re-organised your start menu by any chance?
