    dangerously high fsb?

i have the system in spec, and i have my opteron at 2.7 but the fsb is at 1200 :O but i run stability tests and its fine but im worred its not?

i droped the htt multi to 2x my freq at 300 multi of 9x i dont completly understand how the fsb is worked out as obv 9x 300 is 2700 and 2x 300 is 600, someone tell me if a its safe and b if not how i can take it to a sensible level with out loosing to much performance as its a great perfomer as it is thanks.

you don't have your fsb at 1200 but your HyperTransport.
    It's 2x (your HT/LDT multi) x 300(external clock)=600 but it's bi-directional so x2 again=1200
If your on 939 it's rated for 2000

does anything sound out of place to you then buff?
the onyl reason i havnt gne a lil further was becasue of my worries, as other peple had told me that 1000 was the max

Because Hyper Transport is bi-directional, so it is 2000MT/s or 1000MT/s/way or 1000Mhz.

HTT@1200 is probably fine but I don't think you can go much higher. It is the speed between NF4 and your CPU, but since memory is put out of the equation unlike intel's FSB model, running 3x300 or 4x300 don't make any difference.

Yep, you could even bump it up to 3x and it will still be within spec.

Probably not, but why run it at 1200, when you can run it at 1800?

K8 is the AMD64 family of CPU, K7 was Athlon/Athlon XP etc.

    depends on voltage & cooling.
